Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! "Thanksgiving Day is observed each year in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states. It wasn’t until 1863, amid the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November." My notes: There's also a Turkey Free Thanksgiving!

Thanks, ZandraJoi. I never really celebrate Thanksgiving in the traditional sense, since I don't eat turkey. This year I treated myself to a savory corn pie from Trader Joe's.

"Buy Nothing Day is observed annually on the day after Thanksgiving. This day is part of a movement against consumerism, urging the world to change their purchasing habits, to consume and produce less."
My notes: We should all be conscious the other days of the year as well.

A pretty easy day to celebrate these days, to be honest. Black Friday has been ruined and there really isn't as many good deals as there used to be which is a huge shame. This is the case in the UK anyway.

This is the case in the UK anyway. Here too in the USA. It was a great idea, now they just keep adding on to it. Like Cyber Monday. I know of several stores who raise the prices to give the illusion of a sale.

"On November 26th, National Cake Day delivers a scrumptious treat for everyone to enjoy! Slide over pie, this day cake takes center stage as the dessert of choice. On most birthdays, the cake is topped with candles no matter their age. Showers, weddings, retirements and anniversaries, cake serves up a slice or two. Add ice cream, and you have America’s top favorite desserts in the same dish!"
My notes: What is your favorite kind of cake? I like chocolate myself with chocolate frosting. Vanilla frosting is quite good as well.

"The world celebrates Good Grief Day on November 26 every year to honor the life and the legacy of one of America’s most revered, legendary cartoonists Charles M. Schulz. Schulz is best known as the author of the “Peanuts” comic strip, and his stories and characters have brought boundless delight to the globe. The fact that his characters — Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the rest of the gang — have withstood the test of time demonstrates how influential these legendary characters have had on global pop culture."
My notes: A little bit of trivia: "Charlie Brown appeared in the first Peanuts comic strip on October 2, 1950, but his first appearance in the famous zigzag shirt didn't occur until the strip published on December 21, 1950."

The Peanuts comic strips were always a 'must read'. I so agree! I loved watching the cartoons as well.
